Texas Hold 'Em, or simply hold' em or even holdem (literally thienyl, referring to the cards) - sometimes called the Texan in Italian - is one of the most popular specialty game of poker community card
Although theoretically up to twenty-two players can sit at the same table, usually at a gaming table sit two to ten players. It is played with a deck of fifty-two cards in France (excluding the wildcard). Unlike the provisions in traditional poker, players receive only two cards each: they, together with the five community cards (community cards) divided into Flop (the first three), Turn (fourth) and River (the fifth) discoveries by the dealer during the various phases of the game, each player will form the point.
Variants of the game
without limit (no limit): the most widely used in tournaments, is the game that determines the champion of the world in the WSOP;
limit to the pot (pot limit): bets and raises can not be greater than the amount in the pot before its action, widespread in Europe, it is played to prevent the plates from swelling too much preflop;
limit fixed (fixed limit): the stakes are blocked, as well as any that may be only 3 raises per round of betting, except when you were only two people at the table. The limit game is a type of game that requires less skill psychological (because of small dishes, bids blocked, almost total absence of bluff etc..) But also requires a careful mathematical evaluation of events. This type of game is very popular in the casinos.
mixed (mixed): alternate variants no-limit and limit.
NB: in the limit game, the stakes are doubled in the third and fourth rounds of betting (turn and river).
A round of betting or wagering is concluded in the following cases:
when all players have drawn the highest bid;
when all players but one have dropped out of hand.
During a round of betting when it's a player's turn, he has generally have four options to choose from:
Knocking or switch (check): in this case, the player passes the initiative to the next player in order to play without placing a bet. If one of the players after the game in order to place a bet, once they have completed the turn back to the player who had been through. Once a player has made a bet, you can not pass.
See or call (call): put a number on the plate of chips sufficient to cover the major part of the wager betting round in progress.
Raise (raise): make a bet higher than the highest bid made at that time. When a player raises all the other players are forced to choose between three options: call the bet, raise, or fold in turn hand. The subsequent raises must at least equal to the first is the sum of the amount of the last raise, and the difference with the previous raise.
Leave or fold (fold): abandon the hand. In this case, the player returns the cards to the dealer giving up to the plate and possibly losing as pointed above. A player who folds back to life with the next dish.
If one of the players tip, to continue to participate in the hand each player following it must at least match the last bet (call). However, if the bet is increased to cover the whole of chips (stack) available to a player, he still has the option of accepting the bet into the pot by pouring the entire rest of his (all-in). He contributes in this way to the division of the course: participate in the game for the pot covered by chips at his disposal (main pot), while the remaining part of the plate (side pot) is contention among the other players who have covered the 'entire episode. There may therefore be more than one side pot during the same hand.
After the flop (first three community cards) must be to the minimum bet of the big blind, if the player does not have enough chips to bet this obviously can bet his remaining chips going so also in this case all-in.
Also, if a player raises all-in with a figure that is less than the minimum raise allowed means that the other players who have done action already in hand can not raise themselves but only adapt to flat or retreat, or by call or fold , players rather than before this all-in raise have not yet talked about are free to "fold", "call" or "raise".
The phases of the game
The game takes place in six major steps:
Forced bets: the first player to the left of the dealer (dealer) pays the small blind (small blind), the second pays the big blind (big blind or big blind). The big blind is the minimum bet to play the game; The small blind is half or, more rarely, two-thirds of the big blind. In tournaments can be expected to ante (equal to about one-fifth of the small blind), a forced bet by all players to be placed before dark.
Pre-flop: the dealer deals two cards face down to each player, starting with the one on his left, and then you do the first round of betting starting with the player seated to the left of the big blind.
Flop: The dealer removes from play the top card of the deck and turns over three cards on the table; these community cards (community cards, or municipalities) can be used by all players to compose and improve their point. Once you turn the three cards is another round of betting, this time, and for all subsequent episodes, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.
Turn (or 4th Street): The dealer burns another card from the deck and discovers one of the community cards on the table. Also this card can be used, like its predecessors, along with his hand and the other three on the flop. It is another round of betting and is passed to the next round of betting.
River (or 5th Street): The dealer burns a card, he discovers the last community cards and players make the final round of betting. At this point, on the table, there are five cards that can be used by everyone, and each player has his two hole cards. The point of the player is given the best possible combination of five cards by choosing the seven available.
Showdown: The last player who raised or, if there were no raises, the first player to bet shows their cards (or if anyone had pointed, the first player next to the dealer); other participants who saw his bet they can - in turn, according to the order of the tour - do the same. The player who has found the highest point wins the whole pot. In the case of equivalent points wins the pot the player with the highest card or cards to the external point (kicker). So even if you got a gap between two or more players, they would divide the mail into equal parts (split pot).
Once finished the round, the big blind moves to the left, taking with them the blind and the button.
Alice (dealer), Bob (small blind) and Carol (big blind) in this example of hand
Below is an example of a hand to 4 players, the cards will always remain covered, until the "showdown" to give a better idea of how to play a full hand:
Compulsory bets: Alice is the dealer. Bob, Alice to the left, pay a small blind $ 1, and Carol a big blind of $ 2.
Pre-flop: Alice distributes two cards face down to each player, beginning with Bob and ending with herself. Ted was the first to speak because it is the first player after the big blind (under the gun). Since the blinds are treated as bets can not make [Express], can just pay the $ 2 big blind or raise, but decided to leave [Fold]. Alice sees the $ 2. Bob adds $ 1 to its small blind of $ 1 to see [Call] $ 2 in total. Carol is very dark, so it has the option to raise or even to withdraw from the hand, but it passes [Check], doing finish the first round of betting. The dish [pot] is now $ 6, $ 2 from each of the 3 active players.
Flop: Alice now burns a card and distributes the flop of 3 community cards, the cards are 9 ♣ K ♣ 3 ♥. In this round, as in all subsequent years, the player to the left of the dealer is the first to speak. In this case, Bob passing [Check]. Carol tip $ 2, Ted has already left and Alice raises other $ 2 (puts $ 4, $ 2 for match Carol and $ 2 for raise), forcing Bob to see at least $ 4. Bob sees (put $ 4, $ 2 for the initial bet match Carol and $ 2 to even the revival of Alice). Carol sees putting $ 2. The pot now contains $ 18, $ 6 and $ 12 from the last round by round.
Turn: Alice now burns a card and distributes the turn (4th card) discovered. It is the 5 ♠. Bob passes, Carol passes, and Alice passes; The Turn was a round of Checks. The pot remains at $ 18.
River: Alice, after burning a card, placing the last card, the River, the 9 ♦, constituting the group of 5 cards total 9 ♣ K ♣ 3 ♥ 5 ♠ 9 ♦. Bob tip $ 4, Carol calls, and Alice leaves (Alice had A ♣ 7 ♣ cards; hoped that with the River would find itself with a color).
Showdown: Bob shows his hand from the cards made up Q ♠ 9 ♥, best 5 card that can have are 9 ♣ 9 ♦ 9 ♥ K ♣ Q ♠ for a set of 9, with a kicker of K and Q. Carol shows his hand of cards K ♠ J ♥, constituting his final hand of cards K ♣ K ♠ 9 ♣ 9 ♦ J ♥ for two pair, Kings and 9, with a kicker of J. Bob wins the pot of $ 26. The assignment of the course: The stitch count is assumed that in this game you consider 5 cards to each player that are chosen by the player 2 and 5 on the table that can be used by all players. Who in the 5 cards chosen has the highest score wins.
In general, they are worth the same points of poker but do not forget that the full Hold'em wins on color, and not vice versa as is the case in the version with short deck (32 cards) and that, in contrast to the 5-card poker, not there is a strong suit of another, ie, with the same score, they have no relevance the suits of the cards of individual players.
Example no. 1
Enrico wins the hand, thanks to three cards on the board: A ♣ 8 ♠ 5 ♠, plus his papers: A ♦ Q ♦. The combination exceeds that of his rival: A ♣ 8 ♠ 5 ♠, A ♥ J ♠ more
Roberto using AJ-9-wins 8-2 against AQ-9-8-5 Marco as its color cards form.
The best combination is AA-3-3-8 since the latter card is the kicker. The two players tie (split pot).
Angelo wins because he has in hand with the highest card outside the point because it has the combination JJ-3-3-9, while Massimo JJ-3-3-8.
The best combination is A-K-J-10 6. The two players split the pot.
The best combination is A-A-K-J-10. The two players split the pot.
Pre-Flop position (positions during the game)
At the end of a hand the dealer button is moved that as a result, so climb, you change positions and roles of the players at the table; the location is a key factor to consider from which the players base their strategy for the next game; below are listed with the exact names of the 10 existing positions:
Under the gun
Under-the-gun (translated: at gunpoint) is always the first player to play at the beginning of a hand and is a very dangerous position to be exploited only with very strong cards in your hand; made a substantial recovery from this position is a clear sign of strength.
Under the gun +1
The Under-the-gun +1 and to follow are nothing more initial positions to play about with it the danger decreases with the climb up to the fourth position (under the gun +4); in a table with less than 10 seats is logical that these positions cease to exist.
Under the gun +2
Under the gun +3
Under the gun +4
The player in this position is forced to put the small blind opening of the hand.
The player in this position is forced to put the big blind opening of the hand.
When a player calls "all-in" to less than minimum raise (CB 3) the actions of the players between the dealer (or dealer button) and he is limited to a simple phone call (call) or leave (fold). Ie those who have already spoken / can not raise knocked on the All-in speaker after him. The players that are situated between the one who called "all-in" and the button can call or knock, but also raise (raise) because they have not yet spoken.
In many gambling halls is forbidden to lift the cards from the table, the penalty is to leave the game with automatic fold.
The player is required to show the best five cards, so it is not valid to show the cards dealt (pocket cards) at two different times as it would be nothing left or the second card.
In a tournament, "sit & go" when you delete a player will have to await the passage of the dealer-button before you exclude the position of the dark and blind, so that everyone pays the small blind and the big blind regularly.
The flop is to be served at once, showing that the three cards together, so that players can not guess or make anything out at the sight of one card at a time.
The chips or chips or tokens that each player must have to be kept in view and above all must be shown tokens of greater value. When asked by another player, to count their chips, we may reject without problems since no rule has the obligation to declare our stack (unless they're "all in"), but as indicated above is always good to leave in view of the chips with the highest value in order to allow our opponent a quick and approximate account of our stack.
If a player decides to show his cards, then you will have to show them to the whole table baring.
Every game room has its own rules, well informed if the actions or statements are binding to the end of the action. An all-in may be required to match the voice or can put your amount in chips (stack) into the pot.
When two players have the same point must be regarded as the second card. If this card is able to form with the cards in the center of a point higher than the point of the opponent, the pot does not split but is all of that player. Otherwise you see if the second card is higher the greater the cart table. Otherwise 'splits the pot
It is usually a sign of rudeness not speak English at the table if there are foreign players, because they do not understand your statements.
When a player declares his point must necessarily discover both the cards in order to avoid misunderstandings.
It is forbidden to interrupt the game for reasons not related to it.
It is forbidden to hold the phone on, but in some cases is allowed.
It is forbidden to throw the cards too, when you fold or when you discover (showdown).
It is forbidden to offend the dealer or a player because of his bad luck.
It is forbidden after a player wins, because one or more players have left, ask the dealer to show the cards that would emerge, usually the turn or river.
When the time to take their own decision to play has expired, if this is not taken, the player's hand will be automatically passed then lost.
The minimum bet must necessarily be equal to the big blind (the big blind).
The first raise must necessarily be greater than or equal to the big blind, the subsequent bids equal to or greater made the last raise. Example: With the big blind of 100 to revive you must wager at least 200 (100 to call the previous bet + 100 min-raise). If the recovery instead of 100 was higher, say 150 (so a total bet of 250), the next installment for a stimulus should be a minimum of 400 (250 to call the previous bet minimum raise of 150 +).
On the game board there is an elliptical line that defines the space between the players (the part between them and the line), and the game is now done (the part between the line and the dealer). If the players play an action by placing an amount of chips beyond the dividing line without speaking, that action is categorical and can not be denied. That action can be just a call, if the amount is equal to the previous place does not exceed or even of its 50%; or it can be a raise if it is greater at least 50% of its.
If a player does not have the proper amount of chips equal to the big blind, he is automatically 'all-in' and will play just for the dish made by his 'all-in' more of the same share for every player that plays, the rest of the stakes and of subsequent raises is separated and for the other players.
If the dealer dealing cards discovers an error, the hand is canceled if the card is distributed between the first two, otherwise eliminate (burn) before the flop, turn, putting it in that moment discover the center of the table and continuing to serve the papers will give the next to the next player, and the player who was burned paper will receive its change as the last card dealt.
